British Standard 1 Star
British Standard cylinders are tested to BSI TS007:2012 which incorporates anti-snapping tests alongside the traditional British Standards criteria (BS EN 1303:2005, BS 3621:2007 and PAS24:2007).
A British Standard 1* cylinder (also referred to as a Kitemarked 1* cylinder) has passed the traditional criteria but not the anti-snap testing. These cylinders must be fitted with a 2* armoured handle or cylinder guard to achieve the 3* rating and protection against cylinder snapping.
